Exploring Tastes from the Mountains
Tastes from the Mountains is a gourmet tasting event which follows the Cook-off. It is a “dine-around” reception that features and celebrates West Virginia’s farm products gathered and provided by the state Department of Agriculture—a partner in sponsoring the Cook-Off. The food is prepared by staff from the host property joined by students in the ProStart Program.
For several years, and in various venues, ProStart teachers and their students were in charge of preparing the foods for Tastes from the Mountains.
