Proud Sponsors of the 10th Cast Iron Cook Off® buzzsm jqsaltworksSM Sponsor Taste of the South Steelite International

The Cast Iron Cook-Off® is more than a cooking competition….it’s the Pan Appalachian Foodies’ Playground, drawing teams and Chefs from all over the region to celebrate West Virginia’s culinary heritage at a festival of food. As we celebrate our 10th year, we invite you to join us as a sponsor to reach a unique audience of business and opinion leaders, food and wine enthusiasts, executive chefs, producers and growers, representatives from the hospitality industries and amateur cooks. Media coverage will include not only local sources, but regional publications like The Local Palate and Southern Lady, and national publications like Bon Appetite. And of course, their audiences!

cico_4The 2015 Cast Iron Cook-Off® will feature two new events:

  • The Culinary Battle of the Charlestons. Teams of Executive Chefs from Charleston, WV and Charleston, SC, will celebrate the culinary heritage of their city by competing in a juried exhibition sponsored by the Central WV Convention & Visitors Bureau. In addition to preparing a multi-course meal for judging, each team will serve a dining table of eight (8) sponsored guests.
  • The First Junior Cast Iron Cook-Off. Five (5) teams of ProStart Culinary students, each led by an instructor, will compete on Friday, July 30th. In keeping with the theme of the weekend, this competition will feature local ingredients and new Appalachian cuisine dishes, prepared on-site using cast iron products. This event is being sponsored by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
