reinvented a recipe or just plain loves to cook, here is an event for you!
The Cast Iron Cook-off allows you to challenge your skills, work shoulder to shoulder with a favorite chef and enjoy a friendly team competition that focuses on fresh local foods and classic techniques for innovative results.
At the Cast Iron Cook-off, an executive chef and sous chef develop the menu and recipes using fresh local ingredients and cast iron cookery. They lead competitive teams that plan, prepare and cook a four-course meal to be presented to a panel of judges. Teams compete for the Cook-off Grand Champion Award, Most Innovative Menu, Most Creative Presentation, Most Spirited Team and Best Use of West Virginia Products. While you have fun, we’re growing the next generation of culinary talent which is the mission of the Collaborative for 21st Century Appalachia.
